Well this is the first blog I have started since I began my Bachelor of Business this year at AUT. I had a blog for a while on MySpace but keeping up with it took a second place when I started studying (or atleast turning up to all the classes!)
I have always been a goals person and I think this is the reason why I am now at Uni rather than doing a 7th form year at high school.
Last year I attended a course during which we were encouraged to write BHG's or Big Hairy Goals. One of these for me is to own my own investment property by the middle of next year. Yes this is a big hairy goal but hey at least I have something. At the same time as having these big goals I also always have smaller goals that I can complete on a shorter term scale. One of these that I have recently completed was to shoot at the University Games. (For everyone that was in Christchurch just after Easter I apologise for all the drunk a rowdy uni students!) So anyway I was able to shoot at the games thanks to support from the Howick gun club and my family. Sadly I didn't get any medals (I was up against NZ Reps) but the time I had down there was wonderful.
So anyway back to the main topic! My goals say a lot about me and where I see myself ending up. The plan is to be retired by 30 and own 30 properties. With only 13 years to go I actually think this is possible and realistic. Maybe after I finish studying I will go overseas and just send money home.
There is so much to think about and so much to learn! I think if I didn't have goals I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am now. Thanks to mum I write lists and make sure I know exactly where I am going.
Anyway I had better get back to class (I haven't really been listening much today!!!)
