Updating Your Website

It's time to do stage two of my website .... exciting but what a task!!

When I started My Canvas earlier in the year I needed a website quickly and with limited (very limited :-) budget I had the current site built which was fab but now it's ready for a re vamp.

I have been looking at other sites to get ideas and by doing things like this blog have realised that blogging is

way to go!! From picking the brains of every 'techy' or 'internet savvy' person I have met over the last few months I now know that I need to keep updating my site ALL the time as the powers that be at Google like that and it tells them that your website is still alive and kicking. But then you start to think??? If I need to update it ALL the time how can I do that without paying someone to do the back end technical stuff which I can do as I don't have a big budget to do.

So as I said blogging seems to be the key. A friendly web developed I met told me about this thing called Wordpress which is free software where you can create a blog. Which looks great. As I'm having some work done of the site I'm going to get my techy to do it at the same time so it can be linked to my site and looks and feels the same as my main site with colours and logos etc etc so if you visit my site and click on blog it will feel seemless and look just like another page.

But ... and this is the best bit I can use it to keep updating my site ALL the time. I'm going to use it for adding testamonials and photos of prints I have finished so it some ways like a work blog of the current prints Im working on. Also with articles like tips and tricks for taking great photos from some of the photographers I work with. Well thats the master plan so watch this space. The site should be updated in a few weeks time so have a look now and see what you think maybe give me some ideas or an objective opinion of whats on there at the moment?

If anyone has got any tips or experiences in updating their sites and improving traffic to their site drop me a line would love to hear from you.
