Why Do People blog?Posted on 29. Jul 2008 by wilma1 in Untagged |
Good question to ask someone who has had a blog for nearly 2 years.
When I started I didn't know why I blogged.
Didn't even know what blog stood for. Never aksed either until someone wrote, on a blog of course, that it stood for web log. Log on web.
Now you know as much as I do, and now you left with why log on web?
I can
up but the whole blogging world is very transparent so when I tell a fib once, you will expect me to tell a fib always and from then on never believe a word I say.So, you still don't know why people blog as I still haven't told you and that is of course another reason why I blog. I can rant and rave in a way you wouldn't let me if you had me on the phone.
By now you would have hung up and warned my mother I was at it again.
However I have seen people NOT rant and rave and they are 'mavens', look it up in a book which is called "The Tipping Point' and if you are an advanced blogger you know you could go and search for a blog about it.
However a maven is someone who has lots of info and like to tell other people about it.
Those people are the ones you go to when you want a new computer. They pull out all the stops until you fall over from info overload and they have to drive you home sedated.
These people blog because they have soo much information, they would burst if they didn't pour it out. They can do that now on a blog, before that they might have been boring teachers annoying kids with all that knowledge.
Then there are business blogs, for example marketing blogs write about marketing giving you heaps of free information and then once you trust their expertise they then sell you their products eventually.
This is why maybe most of you are here and to be honest after one year just writing, I am blogging for that reason too.
However it does take a while to build up a reputation and an audience to sell your products to, and there is a whole science behind that, explained you guessed it on blogs.
Why do people blog?
The ones that are keeping it up are writers, mavens or hard workers.
They write because they like it, to part with information, as part ot their marketing strategy, as a journalist for an on line magazine or for fun to connect with others with the same hobby or who are also mothers at home.
To keep myself save; I blog for all the above.
Why do you blog here on Entrepreneurette?
Lets hear some good stories and remember we find out if you tell fibs.
But as we are amongst friends I would say the more fibs the better and then lets vote on the best fib.
So, play with me.
